Appalachian State stepped up in competition when it joined the FBS ranks as a member of the Sun Belt Conference. Now they have the opportunity to face better competition and Georgia is more than willing to oblige. According to Marc Weiszer of the Athens Banner-Herald, Appalachian State will play Georgia in Athens 2017. Not only will they face the upper echelon of competition, but they will also reportedly receive $1 million for facing the Bulldogs.
The Mountaineers have never been a program afraid to schedule the big names and they won’t start now.
