Sal Interdonato of the HudsonValley.com is reporting that the Army Academy is trying to schedule a future game with the National Champions Ohio State. Athletic Director Boo Corrigan confirmed that the Academy has spoken with Ohio State officials about playing a game after the 2016 season.
“We are talking to all kinds of people all of the time. That’s (Ohio State) one of them. They (the games) put us in a financial opportunity which allows us to do more for our cadets. We are looking at it from multiple standpoints, financially being one of them.”
Corrigan reiterated Army’s desire to play one marquee or big-name football school per season. This Fall, Army will travel to Penn State for an October 3rd showdown and then play Notre Dame during the 2016 season on November 12th at the Alamodome in San Antonio.
Great move by Army to build its profile and for making attempts to play better competition. Perhaps the National Champs will accept.
