Jay Drew, beat writer for the BYU Football and Basketball programs Tweeted that the Cougars loses a key component of its offense for up to 2 months. Wide receiver Nick Kurtz suffered a stress fracture in left foot during a team practice.
The 6 foot 6, 205-pound Junior College transfer was expected to be a starter for coach Bronco Mendenhall. Kurtz was listed as the No. 4 receiver and No. 22 JUCO player at any position in the country by Rivals.com.
