According to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, Florida Atlantic University will build a new athletic facility thanks to the largest donation the school has ever received. FAU officials will make the announcement Tuesday about the new facility, which will be used primarily by the football program. It’ll also feature a larger weight room and athletic training room, and could possibly include an indoor practice field.
The Owls also have plans to build an academic center within the facility. Officials have not said when the building will open or when construction will begin. This is a great sign of the school’s commitment to build a great program to compete within Conference USA.
Athletic Director Pat Chun shared,
“When you put the package together, you see how unified FAU is to building our football program,” Chun said. “It’s reflective of the trajectory of this institution. It does get you excited because you know when you put the whole package together you know FAU won’t take a back seat to similar institutions.”
