Georgia Tech QB Ty Griffin to transfer to Oregon

Former Georgia Tech QB Ty Griffin via a Tweet announced that he is transferring to Oregon to be a part of the Oregon Ducks program.  Griffin will have to sit out the 2014 season and will be eligibility beginning 2015.  It should come to no surprise that his younger brother Taj Griffin verbally committed to Oregon earlier this April.  Taj is the Number 1 rated running back by Rivals.com

Ty served as a back up in his only season at Georgia Tech and his news is welcomed at the West Coast powerhouse, especially since they themselves lost two transfers (Jake Rodrigues and Damion Hobbs).  This could be a great move by the 6-foot, 195 pound Griffin especially considering Marcus Mariota could leave for the NFL as a potential top 5 or even Number 1 overall pick.
