Just as LSU enters into the heat of Conference Play, they will have to go at it without defensive back Dwayne Thomas. Reported by The Times-Picayune, The 6-foot 180 pound Sophomore apparently injured the leg in the second quarter of the blowout against New Mexico State 63-7. Thomas had two tackles in the game prior to the injury and had 26 for the season. Also in the young 2014 season, he recorded an interception and a fumble recovery.
This is a significant loss for the LSU defense as he plays the nickel position, made more famous by now Arizona Cardinals DB Tyrann Mathieu.
The 4-1 LSU Tigers travel to take on the 4-0 Auburn Tigers Saturday with a kick off time of 7pm.
