It’s hard to imagine the Big House with its capacity of 109,901 would be having a difficult time filling its seats. Apparently the 2014 campaign hasn’t produced the results they were expecting. In fact, the 102,284 fans who showed up to Michigan’s game against Miami (Ohio) two weeks ago was the lowest turnout the team has had since 1995. Now most programs would love to have that type of turnout and would not panic or resort to marketing promotions to make up for the 7,500 empty seats. Well Michigan is not most programs. They were offering 2 free tickets with the purchase of 2 Coca-Cola products for the game against Minnesota.
Unfortunately for the Michigan Wolverines student fan base, the promotion has been pulled after what the school has labeled a “miscommunication.” I am not buying that this promotion was a “miscommunication” but rather a cover up for their embarrassment. Would you take the offer? Heck, I am buying Coca-Cola for the entire neighborhood. Go Buckeyes, err Michigan and fill those seats. Heaven forbid should attendance be 102,283 against Minnesota.
The Wolverines are off to a 2-2 start that includes a 31-0 blowout loss against Notre Dame and a 26-10 home loss to Utah last week.
