Missouri and Purdue have announced a Home-and-Home series for the 2016-2017 seasons.
Missouri will host the Boilermakers on September 16, 2017 and then make the trip to Indiana on September 15, 2018. In a previous article, I shared how the power conference schools in order to satisfy non-conference scheduling requirement and strengthen their chances for a College Football Playoff spot would go after schools like Purdue and Kansas. Well call me a prophet as Missouri won’t be the last to do schedule these bottom dwellers of the power conferences. Let’s hope that these teams make it difficult for anyone to simply schedule them in order to meet some type of requirement.
On an interesting note: Purdue has not won a game against another power conference school from outside the Big Ten since 2007, when it defeated Notre Dame 33-19.
These two programs have squared off eight times before and Purdue currently leads the series 6 games to 2.
