Happy New Year NCAA Football Zone fans and lovers of College Football! Welcome to 2015 and to an incredible lineup of Bowl games.
8-4 Auburn and 10-3 Wisconsin meet in the Outback Bowl.
Who wouldn’t like to watch Melvin Gordon and Nick Marshall? This is sure to be an exciting match. Both will try to finish strong after disappointing seasons. With the departure of Gary Anderson to Oregon State, Athletic Director Barry Alvarez will be on the sidelines coaching Wisconsin. We expect a high scoring afternoon with the Tigers pulling away at the end.
11-1 Baylor vs 10-2 Michigan State in the Good year Cotton Bowl
This is a classic match up of Offense vs Defense. Everyone knows that Baylor can put up points fast and yet Michigan State prides itself on having one of the best defenses in the country. The Big 12 will look to build off a poor Conference showing (outside of TCU’s thrashing of Ole Miss). The Bears win the second half and the Bowl.
10-3 Missouri and 8-4 Minnesota meet in the Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl
Missouri achieved their second straight SEC East Division Title but could not overcome Alabama who will be representing the SEC in the Playoffs. We would not underestimate the Gophers who have defied expectations all season long. NCAA Football Zone is calling for the upset up the day.
College Football Playoff Semifinals
12-1 Oregon and 13-0 Florida State meet in the Rose Bowl and the first College Football Playoff Semifinals
This could be an instant classic match up of the last 2 Heisman winners: Oregon’s Marcus Mariota and Florida State’sJameis Winston. The Seminoles should have been beaten on several occasions this season, but the good teams figure out a way to win. This unique ability means that you can never count them out especially as they are a second half team. The Ducks finally are the program to solve the riddle and earn the first spot in the championship.
12-1 Alabama and 12-1 Ohio State meet in the Allstate Sugar Bowl for the second College Football Playoff Semifinals
Everyone is looking at this as Meyer vs Saban, coaches with a combined 6 National Championships. The Buckeyes have had to overcome losing their top 2 quarterbacks to achieve this 4th slot of the Playoffs. They will use as motivation the talk that they may not have been more deserving than Baylor or TCU. We don’t see Alabama having a hiccup here but this will be closer than most think. Cooper still has a huge day and places the Tide in the National Championship game.
Happy New Year and enjoy the Bowls and the excitement around the first College Football Playoffs.
