It’s finally here! Our long anticipated NCAA Football Zone Weekly Beast Mode Performers. As our fan base is aware, this weekly post concept was created as a tribute to my son who I will often hear say, “Dad, that player is in beast mode (or he is a beast)”, which translates into someone having an incredible performance. We here at NCAA Football Zone announce our weekly Beast Mode Performers every Monday. We want to know who your weekly Beast Mode Performers are.
Here are your Week 1 Beast Mode Performers.
Brandon Doughty, Western Kentucky University: 46 of 56 for 569 yards, 6 TDs and 0 Ints vs Bowling Green University.
Everett Golson, Notre Dame: 14 of 22 for 295 yards, 2 TDs and 0 Ints vs Rice. Golson also added 3 rushing TDs. The Irish really did not miss a beat with Golson back at the helm.
Kenny Hill, Texas A&M: 44 of 60 for a school record 511 yards, 3 TDs and 0 Ints at South Carolina. We had to include Johnny Football Manziel’s replacement and to note that coach Kevin Sumlin is a QB guru.
Todd Gurley, Georgia: 15 carries for 198 yards, 3 TDs vs Clemson. Gurley, an early Heisman candidate also added a second quarter 100 yard kickoff return for a TD and set a school record for all-purpose yards with 293.
James Conner, Pittsburgh: 14 carries for 153 yards, 4 TDs vs Delaware. Conner is on the list because the Panthers did not need him to carry the rock in the second half.
Rashad Green, Florida State University: 11 receptions for 203 yards, 1 TDs vs Oklahoma State.
Keevan Lucas, Tulsa: 13 receptions for 233 yards, 3 TDs vs Tulane
QB Anu Solomon, Arizona:25 of 44 for 425 yards, 4 TDs and 0 Ints vs UNLV
TE Joel Ruiz, Georgia State: 7 receptions for 111 yards, 2 TDs vs Abilene Christian University. Love being able to give a TE consideration for weekly Beast Mode Performer.
RB Marlon Mack, South Florida: 24 carries for 275 yards, 4 TDs against Western Carolina.
