What an incredible week of College Football. Our top QB Beast Mode Performers this week came from the Pac-12. Here are your Week 6 Beast Mode Performers.
Connor Halliday, Washington State: 49 of 70 for 734 yards, 6 TDs and 0 Ints vs Cal. Halliday set the NCAA record for Passing Yards vs California and yet the Cougars lost to the California Golden Bears. There is no doubt that under Mike Leach’s system, Halliday will continue to put up huge numbers. It also doesn’t help that the defense isn’t that good. Halliday broke David Klingler’s 24-year-old FBS record as well as the overall NCAA record of 730 for a game that was set by Old Dominion’s Taylor Heinicke two years ago.
Jared Goff, California: 37 of 53 for 527 yards, 5 TDs and 0 Int at Washington State. Goff is the other QB in that amazing, defense being optional record performing game. Goff has the Golden Bears off to a 4-1 record and could have easily been 5-0 if not for the close hiccup double overtime loss to Colorado.
Mike Bercovici, Arizona State: 27 of 45 for 510 yards, 5 TDs and 0 Int at USC. Just had to include the Sun Devils QB just for the fact that he tossed a Hail Mary that was terribly defended by the Trojans.
Mike Davis, South Carolina: 23 carries for 183 yards, 3 TDs at Kentucky. Davis tried to carry his Gamecocks to the victory but came short against a hungrier opponent.
Terrance Franks, Texas State: 15 carries for 284 yards, 3 TDs vs Idaho. The Senior Bobcat had a breakout game and should be able to build upon this.
River Cracraft, Washington State: 11 receptions for 172 yards, 3 TDs vs Cal. Somebody had to haul in some of those record setting yards from Connor Halliday.
Jaelen Strong, Arizona State: 10 receptions for 202 yards, 3 TDs including the game winning Hail Mary against USC.
RB Devon Johnson, Marshall: 20 carries for 198 yards at ODU and 3 TDs on the best undefeated team not in a Power 55 Conference. Should go the rest of the way undefeated.
QB Shane Carden, East Carolina: 31 of 41 for 410 yards and 0 Ints against albeit a bad SMU squad. Carden is a dark horse Heisman candidate and I believe that they will win the AAC in their first year as a member.
WR Rashard Higgins, Colorado State vs Tulsa. Higgins on just 6 receptions hauled in 4 TDs. That is not a typo, the Sophomore totaled 178 yards.
