As we enter the 2014 college football season, all of the focus will be on the National Champs and their Heisman Jameis Winston. The Atlantic Coastal Conference had a great season in 2013 with Duke seemingly coming out of nowhere to win the Coastal Division and Clemson finishing strong beating Ohio State in the Orange Bowl.
Newcomer Louisville won’t compete for the Atlantic Division crown in their first year but we do see them being competitive and finishing 3rd. While we expect the Atlantic Division to be a 2-horse race, we believe that the Coastal will be tight the entire season and could come down to the final game to determine the Division winner.
Here is how NCAA Football Zone sees the entire ACC shaping out for the 2014 season.
1. Florida State
5. Boston College
6. North Carolina State
7. Wake Forest
1. North Carolina
3. Virginia Tech
7. Georgia Tech
Even though the Seminoles will get every team’s best, Florida State’s experience should help them pull out the W’s needed to make the inaugural College Football Playoff. We believe it will be Florida State and North Carolina in the Conference Title game.
