NIU behind Lynch Set up for BCS

Northern Illinois University behind QB Jordan Lynch not only beat Western Michigan 33-14 Tuesday evening. QB Jordan Lynch broke his own FBS rushing record (317 yards) for a QB, amassing 321 yards on 27 carries.

With that victory, they have also set themselves up for another run at a second consecutive BCS Bowl game. They will either have to beat Buffalo or Bowling Green in the Mid American Conference Championship Game and then wait to see how the chips fall. There are reservations about inviting the Huskies to a second consecutive BCS Bowl because of their poor performance last year. This one fact has been reflected in the both the Polls and the BCS Standings.
