Ohio State transfer to Texas Tech not granted Hardship Waiver

Ohio State transfer Mike Mitchell was hoping to receive a Hardship Waiver because of his ailing father to be able to play immediately for Texas Tech.  His request was apparently denied and Mitchell will have to sit out a year before he can play for the Red Raiders.

Jeremy Fowler of CBSSports.com shared via Tweeter that Mitchell is “indeed sitting out a year.

A five-star member of the Buckeyes’ 2013 recruiting class, Mitchell was the No. 1 player in the talent-rich state of Texas and the No. 3 outside linebacker in the country.
