Penn State Offensive Line coach Herb Hand appeared on the popular Foot Network show ‘Chopped’. The episode ‘Four Fathers’ was aired on Tuesday, June 10th and will air again on the 15th, 19th and 20th of this month.
This episode challenges four fathers to create incredible dishes from tricky baskets of ingredients: example fish and salt and vinegar potato chips in the appetizer round, a bottle of scotch in the entree basket and then complete the competition with rice pudding and pretzel dessert.
Coach Hand was invited to put his cooking skills to the test last fall during a Vanderbilt bye week.
“It’s basically a dad’s who cook show. It combines food and competition, two of my favorite things. I’m looking forward to watching the show. I think everyone will be excited about it.”

Unfortunately, Coach Hand did not win the Competition:
Thank y’all so much for the messages of support during the #Chopped process. Although I didn’t win, my family and I enjoyed the experience.

Coach Hand enjoyed being able to show off his cooking skills on the set and I hear that he enjoys cooking for friends and family and from time to time a recruit or his team.
