Report: LSU coach Les Miles wants his son to play for Michigan. Manny Miles, a 5-foot-11, 175-pound quarterback at University High in Baton Rouge, La., is here measuring himself against other quarterbacks in the 2015 class.
According to The Detroit News, From The Detroit, Coach Miles said of his son Manny,
“I would love to see him at Michigan. The first place that I took him to tour was Michigan, and he fell in love with the place. He said, ‘Dad, I know why you went here.’”
Beginning Thursday, the younger Miles is in his dad’s old stomping grounds of Michigan to participate in the “Sound Mind Sound Body” football camp with other potential recruits.
Being in the state that saw him both play and coach for the Wolverines, the elder Miles was of course bombarded by the local media about whether he would want his son to follow in his Big Blue footsteps. Which comes first: his obligation as a father or as a coach? No doubt Manny will be heavily recruited to play for Michigan. I would also think coach Miles would allow LSU and other national programs to pursue the younger Miles as well.
I could not question his loyalty for where Les Miles is, especially after his name was rumored to take the Michigan job before Brady Hoke came into the picture. While coach Miles would be happy if his son follows his foot steps to Michigan or chooses to play for him at LSU, you have to believe Les is a proud father.
