Reported by the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, Minnesota Coach Jerry Kill is planning on coaching from the sideline this season. The Gophers’ coach began to work from the booth/Coaches box after suffering a seizure last year. Kill did coach from the sideline when the Gophers played their bowl game against .
Minnesota posted its first winning record since 2008 last season, going 8-5. The coach despite his health concerns received a contract extension through 2018. Coach Kill when asked about his health and decision to coach from the sideline replied,
“I’m feeling pretty good,” he said. “I’ve lost a few pounds. I’ve been walking. [Associate athletic director Dan] O’Brien and a lot of people are trying to keep me in line. But the No. 1 person is me.”
