Report by Yahoo Sports’ Charles Robinson and Pat Forde: NCAA chief operating officer Jim Isch will be departing his position. Isch may be in the process of negotiating a severance package which could delay his departure for a few months.
When asked about Jim Isch’s expected departure, NCAA spokesperson Stacey Osburn said,
“We are not going to speculate on personnel matters.”
Isch, who Robinson and Forde characterize as Mark Emmert’s right-hand man, played a role in the NCAA’s investigation into Miami. Isch approved a $20,000 payment requested by NCAA enforcement head Julie Roe Lach to an attorney of Shapiro’s, a payment that severely damaged the NCAA’s case against Miami.
