Son of former Penn State assistant coach Jerry Sandusky speaks with Oprah. The Oprah Winfrey Network announced Tuesday that Oprah Winfrey’s interview with Jerry Sandusky’s son Matt will air on July 17 on the OWN network.
In a brief video clip posted on Winfrey’s website, Sandusky says to Winfrey,
“At bedtime, his ritual began.”
Winfrey responds by saying,
“Did the ritual happen every night?”
Matt will share with Oprah about his own personal abuse. The interview further shares about Matt’s experiences and the ‘grooming, methodical control and manipulation’ by his father.
During the Jerry Sandusky trial in 2012, Matt Sandusky told police that his father started abusing him when he was around 10. The allegations prompted Dottie Sandusky to claim that her adoptive son was dishonest and mentally ill, and that he had stolen from the family.
What (was allowed to) happened to these young men is truly terrible and I hope for healing in their lives.
Will you watch the television interview with Oprah? My wife and I most certainly will watch the program as Oprah has a huge following. For a brief snap of what to expect in the interview Oprah has with Matt Sandusky, visit Oprah’s site.
