Charlotte, North Carolina’s Bank of America Stadium is being active in filling its stadium with programs and events outside of their regular tenants– the NFL’s Carolina Panthers.
It is being reported by the Charlotte Observer that Tennessee and West Virginia have agreed to play in Bank of American Stadium sometime in September of 2018–a site considered to be neutral for both programs. To bolster their nonconference schedule,West Virginia added Alabama to its schedule next month in Atlanta and will open the 2017 season against Virginia Tech. Tennesse also is beefing up its schedule by adding Oklahoma in 2015 and then Virginia Tech in 2016.
In a few weeks on August 2nd, Bank of America Stadium will play host for an international soccer “friendly” between Liverpool and AC Milan. Inviting these international soccer clubs continue to fuel the growth of the sport here. Who knows, perhaps the US will be chosen as a replacement site for Qatar (bribery charges) should it be decided that they are no longer to host the FIFA World Cup.
Bank of American Stadium is also the site for the Belk Bowl and the 13th annual game will be held on December 30th with a kickoff time of 6:45P.M.
