Texas A&M playing without Kenny Hill held on to win against Louisiana-Monroe 21-16. Freshman Kyle Allen making his first start this afternoon threw for 106 yards and 1 TD and his Aggies had to hold on as they failed to score again after the second quarter.
It was announced shortly before the game that their starting QB Kenny Hill had been suspended for 2 games for violating team rules and athletic department polices. Truth be told, Hill had not been playing well and perhaps this break will allow him the opportunity to get focused on playing good football and in leading his team on and off the field.
The win makes the Aggies (6-3) bowl eligible for a record sixth straight year. Texas A&M’s schedule is challenging as they travel to Auburn before closing their season at home against Missouri and LSU.
