Report in the Baltimore Sun, Two Maryland Terrapins, Junior wide receiver Levern Jacobs and senior linebacker Alex Twine were arrested Thursday on charges of second-degree assault, according to Maryland court records. The original charges stem from an alleged incident on April 19.
Jacobs’ 2013 campaign included 47 catches for 640 yards and three touchdowns, while Twine was a key contributor with Special Teams and a reserve inside linebacker.
Coach Randy Edsall shared in a statement,
“We are aware of the situation and are in the process of gathering more information. We take these matters very seriously. We will have no further comment at this time.”
Both are likely to face suspensions and could miss the early part of the Terrapins’ first season as Big 10 members.
